Attended St Mary's Cof E Junior/Primary School (5 /11 yrs) and then Chesham and Slough technical colleges, also took on a five-year apprenticeship In electrical engineering
After whichI joined the RAF for 5 year period.
Quite a lot happened that during this time,Firstly I got married to my first wife Gillian this lasted for a little over 20 years during which we had two boys and girl. Terence, (Sadly died at 41) Sally, and Timothy.
After leaving the air force although my old job was still available but I found it difficult to settle, so I, with a partner Vic Palmer decided to start a Electrical Contracting Business which was quite successful , I ran it for 40 odd years The last 20 of which after Vic retired, I was in sole control, before handing over the reigns to my sons.
Now apart from having the occasional problem run by me I have absolutely nothing to do with business whatsoever. completely a man of leisure.
40 years ago I met Julia and we have been married for the last 35 years we have no children together.
We are both enjoy holidays, and over the last 10 years we have taken to cruising this is mainly because neither of us enjoy airports and the main advantage with cruising Is the fact that you drive to Southampton with as much or little luggage as you require, and seldom any hassle.
This year it is Norway and the Mediterranean.
Prior to this our favourite spot was Cyprus
Hobbies etc
In my earlier life It was always motorcycles cars fixing things, even went through a time of thinking I would be the worlds best golfer, but never quite made it
Since retiring and getting older I have become interested, computers cameras more or less anything digital.
Photography
I'm what they call a cheque-book photographer , In other words the more you pay for your camera the better your pictures will be! (Of course this is not true) But I do find the hobby interesting, but very time consuming.
I have a couple of what they call bridge cameras a canon and a Panasonic and quite nice small Drone with 4K camera this takes excellent pictures with little or no help from me.
I find it quite intriguing to be able to edit the clips taken by the cameras.
It's nice to be able to throw away the rubbish (Which is normally about 95%) and to edit the videos to shorten version only showing the what I consider to be the interesting bits.
Hi-fi Audio and more recently computers have always been of interest to me especially Reel to Reel Tape Recorders.
I also hold An amateur radio license which I've held for some 40Years(G6HFT) (never did masterThe Morse code at 12 words per minute)
I have a very nice Workshop/Man Cave This is fully equipped with most tools needed for Woodworking and small engineering jobs Etc
Over the yearsI have built most of the bookcases,Cupboards,TV cabinets.As well as numerous structures for the garden Including a summer house.I will show pictures of later.
